O'Sheas Builders have been approved as a Registered Heritage Contractor by the Construction Industry Federation's accrediting body.

The Register of Heritage Contractors aims to provide contractors with the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the field of heritage works, while providing both public and private clients with an accessible list of reliable heritage contractors.

The criteria for the Register is set out and agreed by the Heritage Registration Board and all contractors are approved by a separate Selection Committee. The Heritage Registration Board includes representatives from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government; The Office of Public Works; The Heritage Council; The Irish Georgian Society; Limerick Institute of Technology; Private Sector Professionals; Construction Industry Federation.

Registered Heritage Contractors are skilled companies that deliver the traditional building trades for the conservation and restoration of heritage properties or site. The Heritage Contractors Register is typically comprised of Main Building Contractors, Specialist Contractors including; Stone Companies, Painters, Plasterers, Window Specialists, Iron and Wood Specialists and Specialist Cleaning Companies.

Heritage Contractors are assessed and approved for membership after a detailed application form containing detailed examples of Heritage Project work signed off by either a Conservation Architect or Engineer. The applications are assessed by a committee that is made up of key figures from both the client and contractor side of the Heritage industry.
